While I loved my work as a nurse, I knew that someday I would need to help create change. While nursing I also trained up to a professional level as a Recreational Scuba Instructor, to protect against burnout. There is nothing quite like big nature, to keep you anchored firmly to what is important and how easily we can lose sight of that.
When I became a mother at 35 years of age, I then suffered two years of harrowing and immobilising depression, and was unable to receive any help beyond medication. This was further living proof to me that I would need to assist turning this ship around. There must be much better solutions to emotional and mental anguish, and I had yet to meet anyone that had recovered while on medication.
In the end, it was the support of my husband, his family and my own mothers' love and nurturing that brought me back to myself as a new mother. Between my 20's to 50's I survived two major traumatic incidents - one on a cruising yacht in a storm, and a second while scuba diving. As someone adept on and in the ocean, I was horrified, my confidence shattered, while grateful to have survived. It was in my late 50's after studying to become a psychotherapist, and spiritual psychology, I sought my own therapy to address trauma. It is this therapy, which was successful, that I now use daily in my clinical practice and which helps hundreds of people.
Today, in my early 60's I am fully active in both sports and even better, through the wisdom of trauma.
As a Clinical Psychotherapist, Supervisor and Trauma specialist with 13 focused years in this profession and forty years of combined study and a rich life, I believe that my textured experiences as a mother, nurse, global traveller, student and athlete, provide me the rich basis to fulfil my destiny as an insightful and dedicated therapist that understands deeply what is needed.
I have come close enough to death myself in the midst of the grand elements, to live more fully and assist you to do the same.
While I welcome clients bringing many and varied needs, I also have a unique offering and depth of awareness in the field of Marine-related Trauma. Trauma that has been sustained in or involving water - whether it be through water sports, natural phenomenon, abuse or otherwise, is especially impactful on the stability and self-assuredness of a human being.
I also have a unique specialisation in Anthroposophic psychology, informed by the wisdom and mastery of Dr Rudolf Steiner. View my resources for more information on this.

Each person has the authority to author their own healing journey free from reductionist and limiting diagnostic labels.
When the body is actively engaged on purpose and with intention, the client experiences intuitive and embodied truth that is undeniable. This changes everything.
The human heart is elevated to its rightful place in your life - the word 'love' is given its true purpose and meaning and you will be shown how transformative engaging the heart muscle in your daily life really is.
Together we engage mutual, truthful and ethical standards, that provide a strong foundation. It is integral and fair that your therapy with me should have a sound beginning, a truthful process, and a resolute ending.
