You’ve probably noticed the Vespa on my homepage. It’s a great photo, taken at sunrise on Alex Hill in Mooloolaba, Australia. But I’ll admit — its place on the Home page might seem a little questionable at first glance.
During my very first online chat with my website developer, Lani (from The Story Shed), she mentioned that my website should represent me — who I am — as much as it represents my work.
Having never had a website before, I began thinking about what truly represents me, and how I could somehow tie that to my profession. It turned out to be a simple idea… but not an easy one to execute.
A website, I realised, is a visual snapshot of the person behind the business. It’s not just about the services; it’s about the human being who brings herself to that work. You can even see this reflected in my beautiful logo (but that’s another story!).
In my case, the person bringing these services is not only a Clinical Psychotherapist and Trauma Specialist — but also a Vespa GTS300 rider and professional scuba diver, living on the beach in the subtropical climate of northeastern Australia.
This environment, lifestyle, and location have shaped and sustained my therapeutic work. They are like a biographical backbone — providing structure, strength, movement, flexibility, and substance, and carrying the “electrical impulses” that find their way into each therapy session.
The image on my homepage is a by-product of that life and lifestyle. It’s a snapshot: evocative, colourful, and full of beauty and inspiration. That’s the message being offered here.
The question remains: will I be any good?
Well… after you explore the site and take in my intentions, I invite you to decide for yourself. And if you feel curious, you’re warmly welcome to get in touch with me.
